Pre-Meeting

  • The speakers are acting funny in the room. Kinda driving us nuts (well, more so).
  • A lengthy discussion took place relating to the quality of the new Star Wars film, the prequels and the originals.
  • Some talk about how good ‘The Martian’ is; the book, the audio book and the movie.
  • Getting old is hell on your eyes.
  • I zoned out a bit and missed some notes.
  • Discussion over methods of communication

    • He suggests giving the first couple Mars Lander levels a go.

Dinner Chat

  • Wow was Cheesecake Factory crowded for a Thursday night.
  • Stephen and Util talked at great length about a code template system.
  • Scott talked some about needing to scrape web pages to make Docsets for Dash
  • Stephen asked if anyone has done anything with Node & Websockets
    • No really good responses to capture here.
    • Though there are some perl modules (metacpan)
  • I talked a little bit about automating some things on my systems by watching DBUS
    • Blog post about it here
  • My set of Dubs worked fairly well in toning down the general noise of the restaurant while not impeding my ability to converse at the table.

Random Stuff

  • Seems the windows MSI installer for Perl 6 is available
